All the main line banks are generally agreeable to the reduction of debt to sustainable levels where the value of the underlying assets and business together with any additional security have a current market value of less than the amount that could be recovered over a seven to fifteen year period on a term loan based on the sustainable debt. A bank restructure in this format usually includes an initial term loan over a seven to fifteen year period plus an agreed fixed amount payable on completion.
